Minds Connect Lunch Group

A mental health support group available for local schools.

What is Minds Connect?

Minds Connect Lunch Group is a pilot program for a middle and high school support group. The group educates young people on the significance of mental health, coping skills, and more. It creates a safe space for students to access resources and feel seen and heard.

About the Group

Middle and high school can be hard, and it's important to have safe adults to talk to. Our school support group is an opportunity for students to gather during lunchtime and talk about what they're going through with some of our staff, while completing fun activities and learning about mental health and wellness.

NAMI staff work with school guidance counselors to provide support to local students. This support group is free for any school to bring in and open to all kids to attend.

What We Do in Groups

01.

Students talk about how they are doing any any challenges in life.

02.

NAMI staff direct them to appropriate resources.

03.

We complete fun, mental health-related activities.

04.

Students are given resources to take home.

Join a Group

Our Minds Connect Lunch Group is a pilot program that ran weekly in spring of 2024 in Mansfield Senior High and Middle School, and reached students grades 7-12. NAMI staff came to the school weekly and students were given the option to attend the group during their lunchtime. The free program has been a success so far, and we are looking to expand it into other local schools.
